E.ON España (E.ON Spain) has five coal-based thermal power plants consisting of Puente Nuevo, Puertollano, Cercs, Los Barrios and Escucha.

The Puente Nuevo Plant

The Puento Nuevo coal-fired power plant is located in the Espiel municipal district, 45 kilometers north of the city of Córdoba. It has an installed capacity of 324 MW.

Environmental works are currently underway to modernize the plant, which will extend its life, improve the environmental quality of its surroundings through the reduction of emissions and guarantee compliance with future legislation.


The Puertollano Plant

The Puertollano coal-fired power plant is located along the highway that runs from Puertollano to Mestanza, 4.2 kilometers from Puertollano and 40 kilometers from Ciudad Real, in an area with a low population density that is surrounded by a significant number of coal deposits. It has an installed capacity of 221 MW.


The Los Barrios Plant

The Los Barrios coal-fired power plant is located in the province of Cádiz. It has an installed capacity of 567 MW.

Environmental works are currently underway to modernize the plant, which will extend its life, improve the environmental quality of its surroundings through the reduction of emissions and guarantee compliance with future legislation.


The Escucha Plant

The Escucha coal-fired power plant is located in the municipal district of Escucha, which is in the northern area of the province of Teruel, 70 kilometers from the capital. The plant is accessed through the national N-420 highway, which connects with Utrillas and the Montalban urban center. It has a capacity of 160 MW.
